July BRASH! Artist Spotlight – Kendal Conrad

Kendal Conrad is a 21-year-old singer/songwriter.  She is currently attending Ursinus College with a triple major in English, Music and Theater.  I just completed a run of the musical La Cage aux Folles at the Steel River Playhouse in Pottstown, PA. This songstress is also the reigning International Miss Pennsylvania 2013.

Kendal wrote “Girlstrong” which was inspired by actress Geena Davis. She performed this song at the White House on December 10, 2011. It was also under consideration to be performed at the Gracies in Hollywood to honor women in the media.

Kendal has opened for various acts and events; country star Phil Vassar at Musikfest Cafe sponsored by CAT Country and country artist Craig Morgan at Pittsburgh’s Three Rivers Regatta to name a few. With many performances under her belt such as Philadelphia City Hall, Hersheypark, Six Flags Great Adventure, St. John’s Cathedral in NY, The Bitter End in NY, and the 2010 CMA Fest Pre-Show at the Nashville Palace. Her National Anthem performance with a fly-over for NASCAR Monster Mile was televised in May, 2011 on ESPN.

This up and coming singer/songwriter was described by BCTV as true talent that doesn’t need any gimmicks to make her stand out.
