The Tapes front man, Mickey Kojak, releases new single Save Your Breath on new label OneLove
Having spent the last year touring alongside A-Trak, What So Not, and Hayden James and appearing on a slew of festival slots including Splendour in the Grass and Groovin The Moo, Mickey returns in 2017 with “Save Your Breath”.
“Save Your Breath” begins with Mickey’s lone vocal, spacious keys and lush soundscape. The track quickly builds into a bass-driven club rattler, riddled with Mickey’s unique brand of quirky synths and leads.
As the lead vocalist of indie act The Tapes, Mickey has spent the last year fully committing himself to his songwriting and performing craft both in the band and as a solo artist. “The Tapes” EP which was launched at Electronic Music Conference Sydney and reached #5 on both Hypemachine and Spotify’s ‘Global Viral Chart’ garnering streams in the millions across multiple platforms.
“Save Your Breath” is Mickey’s first release on iconic dance label OneLove (Tiga/Slumberjack/Generic). Alongside new bookings partner Maker Agency (Tame Impala/What So Not/Motez) stacking up the live dates at your favorite night spots across the nation, Mickey is set for a massive 2017.
Mickey Kojak first jolted the Australian radio waves with his breakthrough single “Feel My Pain”, closely followed up by his debut EP “Alone” which became an underground smash garnering praise from journalists and world renown DJ’s such as Martin Solveig, Oliver Heldens as well as Australia’s own Alison Wonderland and Motez.
