CIRCLE Foundation commemorated 8 years with lavish gala honoring excellence

CHICAGO, IL – Alhambra Palace Restaurant, nestled in the west loop of Chicago, was the backdrop for CIRCLE Foundation’s fashionable event. Attendees and special guests fared sumptuously on Greek cuisine while listening to DJ OREO. To top off the grand evening, awards were given to commend recipients for their excellence in school and in the community. CIRCLE Foundation looks forward to continuing their success through Innovations High School and with the continued support of Matt Forte, sponsors, and donors.

As the evening progressed, accolades were bestowed upon Innovations High School’s senior student and valedictorian Sihan Hussein. Her personal story fueled her to push past present obstacles to pursue her goals of obtaining her education. “What’s Your Forte?” Matt Forte Foundation awarded her achievements with a $10k scholarship to continue her education.

Awarded for his community endeavors, Project 5000 Chicago’s founder Roland Davis was presented with the Community Award. Roland recently unveiled a jewel of resources on Chicago’s south side by opening a facility suited to the needs of aspiring and established entrepreneurs. Project 5000 Chicago facility is to help entrepreneurs, train individuals and create generational wealth within the inner-city.

Through the generous support of “What’s Your Forte?” Foundation, Jean Claude Aurel, Phyllis S. Flowers, Levera Roman, Youth Connection Charter School, One Digital, Rolling Out (Media Sponsor), Insurance Support Services and Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church CIRCLE Foundation’s mission to educate, train and mentor at-risk inner-city youth continues on.

Live Loop, Corner Bakery Cafe, W Hotel, Wines for Humanity, WGCI, Andre Royo, Francesca’s Restaurant, Chicago Smartphone Repair Center, Phil & Rosalind Brumant, City Winery, GoodLife USA, Marlo’s Bake Shop (Los Angeles, CA), Project Glimmer (San Francisco, CA) and MilliMiracle donated their support to the cause of uplifting at-risk youth with items for the Silent Auction, Raffle and Swag Bag. Together our Sponsors and Donors represent a glimpse of the “community spirit” of CIRCLE Foundation.

The African L.I.F.E. organization showcased the rich heritage of Africa through their vibrant colored fabrics and a mix of traditional and contemporary pieces. The African L.I.F.E. fashion show, entitled THE OBAAPA (Good Woman), featured designers: Akese Stylelines, Kristena Witherspoon designs, and Nadette’s Couture.

“This year’s gala was our best ever,” exclaimed Co-Founder LaShaun Jackson. “What a wonderfully executed event! We are still receiving donations! We would like to thank Matt Forte, The African Life, the OBAAPA Fashion Show, and all of the people that gave their mental and physical sweat to make our gala a success! “
