BRASH! Magazine Interviews No Pay No Runway®‘s CEO/Founder, Carnell Jones. A Model Movement Giving Voices and Raising Awareness for the Beauties of the Catwalk

No Pay No Runway Interview - BRASH! Magazine Blog

No Pay No Runway® was formed to bring awareness to all models who may have found themselves being treated unfairly or manipulated into working for Free.

Did you know that every time a model hits the runway during your favorite fashion event, she walks away with experience, minimum exposure, and weeks of countless emails/inquiries for pictures to add to the portfolio. Many are unaware of the time investments given in the industry from models who are looking to make their own mark. Unfortunately, those opportunities to start and thrive as a working model are very few.

No Pay No Runway® is standing up to be that voice. Giving models a platform to advise and speak out against designers, fashion production companies, and other brands utilizing their talents for events to boost their company’s profiles, and leaving the models with nothing.

BRASH! Magazine reached out to the founder of No Pay No Runway®, Carnell Jones, for more details on the movement and how models can get involved!

CEO/Founder of No Pay No Runway, Carnell Jones

CEO/Founder of No Pay No Runway, Carnell Jones

BRASH! What is the overall mission for the movement? Our mission is to give every model a voice to speak out against free labor in the fashion industry, and to eventually get them the wages they deserve.

BRASH! Why do you feel that models accepted the terms of unpaid gigs and exposure in order to hit the runway? Many models accept the terms of unpaid gigs and exposure in the beginning because most of the producers and designers are selling them false hope and dreams. For a young model to hear “If you walk for free, you will get great exposure and you will eventually become the next modeling star” is a rather soft spot for most models. The average model is between 15 & 25 years of age, so when they hear “You will become famous one day”, they tend to put their guards down and accept anything.

Read the full exclusive interview in the Spring ’19 Issue of BRASH! Magazine.

Seduction in Technicolor | “VR” Music Video by Kristina Bazan

Fashion Influencer Kristina Bazan Releases Sublime Video for “VR” from Debut EP, HV1

VR by Kristina BazanAfter the hypnotic and cinematographic single “Clockwork” released in May, fashion blogger icon Kristina Bazan has lifted the veil on her very first EP EPHV1.

New single offering “VR” from the EP explores modern relationships, virtual feelings, these ensorcelling “digital fragments of love” keeping us away from a violently normal reality.

“VR” or Virtual Reality is a song treating of the ephemeral nature of love in our digitally predominated new world. It asks where the limit is between reality and virtuality, feelings and illusions.

The song was written and composed by Kristina Bazan and was produced with Louis Côté, the executive producer of Kristina’s upcoming album. The influences: disco & glam rock… bands like Goldfrapp with their “Strict Machine”, Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” or even the melancholic yet sweet first few notes of Chris Isaac’s “Wicked Games”.

HV1 EP is Available Now on All Digital Music Streaming Outlets!

EPHV1 by Kristina Bazan

“VR” comes with a SF music video and it has an unmistakably 80’s touch, directed by Giovanna Gorassini. The video makes us travel into a parallel world where a strange Fish-boy (played by Christopher Michaut) enters a futuristic nightclub. He puts a VR mask on and meets a surreal virtual apparition: a woman who seduces him in a technicolor world. The aesthetic of the video is reminiscent of Blade Runner, Shape of Water or even some of David Lynch’s work, meaning to unveil a psychedelic world full of magic and sensuality where seduction and illusion meets.

As the new YSL beauty “music talent”, Kristina is dedicating herself entirely to her music now following previous releases as an author and major work as a model. This year Kristina has already performed in Paris and at Cannes Film Festival for the private event of her tour producer, Live Nation.

Music Artist/Fashion Influencer, Kristina BazanWrapped in this mysterious electronic melody, sparkling and fascinating, taking us from Kate Bush to Daft Punk, Kristina Bazan plays with lights and shadows, drawing pieces after pieces for the shape of a promising music career.

7 Denim Styles That You Must Absolutely Own. by Archana Dhankar. FashionforRoyals

One piece of clothing that I can never do without is the good old pair of jeans. And it isn’t only me, perhaps every single woman of whatever shape, size and dressing sense, would find it hard to survive without her favorite denim. A well-fitted pair makes you look good and feel awesome, not to mention that it works for every occasion. You can team one with a shimmery top and wear it to the club or create a work-ready look by pairing it with a white shirt and throwing over a jacket. Jeans come in a great range, in different colors, cuts, and styles that can flatter your figure and spice up your wardrobe. When it comes to the checklist of the denim styles that you must have, here are some styles that I would recommend. READ MORE.
