Fashion Designer Jason C. Peters, Pushing the Envelope with Atlanta Fashion Showcase Continuing the PaperDoll Collection Tour
Jason C Peters has been using his major platform in the fashion industry to not only shine light on the gruesome parts going on within industry of style, but to spread awareness to social issues. With the continuation of his PaperDoll Collection tour, Peters gave ATL a jaw dropping show. Of course we had to catch up with our fashion friend to get an inside look on the energy behind the process along with how heâs shaking up the fashion world once again.
I believe that as artists, creators and innovators it is our duty to use our platforms through creativity to bring awareness to real life issues.

Instead of taking an âItâs all about me!â approach when putting together his shows, Peters steps it up a notch joining in on the conversations about sexism, gun laws, and even the slave trade. All issues that have been in headline news but few would take the steps to take a stance and do something about them. Jason C Peters is getting our attention HIS way through creative designs and by putting on a good show!

I have always been for the underdog or those that feel their voices arenât heard. Fear prohibits us from using our voices to stand up for who we are and what we believe in.
The drive for his courage to be a strong voice derives from his risk taker spirit and unapologetic approach in fashion design. To Peters, doing what is right within his lane is initiating change, providing though provoking art, and being that voice for millions who are constantly silenced by societal viewpoints.
With his most recent show held at Iridium ATL (Atlanta, GA), Peters felt that it was important to stay true to himself by doing what he knows. And that is PUSH THE ENVELOPE. Throughout the showcase, guests were greeted with eye-catching phrases adorned on the collection.
One major look from the show was a design which stated âNRA Kills Kidsâ.

We all know what that stands for. However, how many of us are willing to speak that through our gift? And with this particular piece, Peters had this to say:
“I will continue to travel the United States doing inspirational impactful mind blowing and out of the box themed fashion shows to bring awareness to issues that not only affect us individually but as an entire country and world. I was inspired to create this truthful & current piece. The NRA is killing kids in the sense that they need to have strict gun laws that will keep kids around the United States safe and not allow them to have easy access to them.”
Peters joins the fold of many creatives in the entertainment and fashion industries such as Cardi B, Snoop Dogg, Alexander McQueen, and Rihanna. They stay true to themselves while giving the world their art as well as standing up for what they believe in. Society constantly pushes us to believe that an unpopular or an uncommon stand is the wrong one. Luckily for us, we have artists such as these who are risking their positions in continuing the fight for the voiceless.

Throughout the tour of Petersâ PaperDoll Collection, he describes the response as âpretty awesomeâ.
People have been very appreciative of me really bringing some of these current day issues to light through my creative forms of expression and fashion.
Heâs even gained attention via social media from todayâs pop culture influencers such as Erika Jane (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills), Perez Hilton (Celebrity Blogger) along with getting the support of Phaedra Parks (Former Real Housewives of Atlanta), and Ocho Cinco (Former NFL Player); once the buzz of his PaperDoll Collection hit media outlets.
And the show WILL continue. Peters is far from done with his mission to take on various issues affecting us today while providing creative fashion and an entertaining show. Heâs all about the element of surprise so stay tuned to get more jaw-dropping designs that will make you want to stand up and speak out!

Next up for the tour will be for the North Carolina Fashion Week on May 19th! If youâre in the area, get your ticket and get ready to be in awe!
